Disable Alarm on CyberPower 450va Model SE450G or SX650G

One of our developers told us a tale of what happened to him one night when the power failed at his home.

Owning three CyberPower 450va Battery Backup units, when the power failed, a chorus of sirens (loud beeps) went echoing throughout his home. He didn’t want to turn the units off as the power usually failed for just a few minutes and he wanted his devices to remain plugged in. But there was no setting to disable the alarm and remain in battery mode.

Turns out there is and this article will tell you how to disable the alarm. When the power fails, just a click of the units switching to battery mode will occur, but no more sirens.

Turn the CyberPower Power Failure Alert Alarm Off

To turn the CyberPower battery backup power failure alert Alarm OFF, quickly press the power button twice.

If you hear two short beeps, this means that the Alarm is disabled. The unit will remember this setting. Test by unplugging the unit to ensure you’ve got the unit set correctly.

Re the alarm shut off on the cyber power 450va, does that permanently shut off the alarm, or is it per occurrence? Like your developer, I had my 2 go off, repeatedly. My power cycled off and on over 75 times in a 45 minute period before finally going off for an hour. Not sure what happened. But the constant beeping made wife and dog extremely anxious. I was away. I need to get the alarms off permanently. Thanks!
