Delete All Saved Passwords in Proton Pass
Experimenting with the Proton Pass password manager service revealed that it has promise.
However, my initial attempt at importing passwords failed about half way. Then restarting the import resulted in duplication of most passwords since Proton Pass apparently has no way to detect duplicates.
Wanting to start over, I discovered that had to manually select each password even using their “Multiple select” option. Luckily I discovered a solution to remove all the passwords at once with a few clicks and one confirmation box.
This article covers how you can delete all your saved passwords within Proton Pass.
Remove All Proton Pass Passwords
As you may have discovered, you cannot remove the original “Personal” vault.
However, to remove all passwords from the “Personal” vault at once simply create a new vault, move all items to it, then delete this new vault. See steps below.
1. Create A New Proton Pass Vault
To remove all passwords from the “Personal” vault at once simply create a new vault and name it something simple like “del“.
2. Move All Stored Passwords
Then move all your stored passwords within the “Personal” vault to this new “del” vault by clicking on the 3 vertical dots on the right of your Personal vault. Select “Move all items” and choose the newly created “del” vault, see image below.
3. Delete new Proton Pass Vault
Click on the 3 vertical dots to the right of the new “del” vault (which should contain all your items) and select “Delete vault“, see image below.
4. Confirm Proton Pass Vault Deletion
Simply confirm deletion by typing in the vaults name within the confirmation box input field and click on “Delete“.
