How to Disable Microsoft Phone Link from Running in Background

I’ve never used or want to use the Microsoft Phone Link app. Despite this fact, the application still runs in the background taking up between 40 to 50MB of RAM.

To remove Phone Link, which does not offer a standard uninstall option in Windows Settings, you must use PowerShell with administrative privileges.

To run the PowerShell commands for managing calendar permissions in Exchange Online (Microsoft 365), follow these steps:

Install the Exchange Online PowerShell Module

If the Exchange Online PowerShell Module is not already installed on your PC, open PowerShell as Administrator and run:

Install-Module -Name ExchangeOnlineManagement

  • If prompted that NuGet provider is required to continue, type Y and press Enter.
  • If prompted to install from an untrusted repository, type Y and press Enter.
