Transcribe Feature in Word Missing, FIXED

Using the desktop version of Word, I discovered that the Transcribe feature was not available. Oddly enough, I could see the transcribe feature when I go to Customize the Ribbon. However, I cannot toggle it on or off and it is not actually showing up in the Ribbon.

Turns out, it was a simply Microsoft Account Privacy Setting that was preventing the Transcribe feature from being available. This article will show you which Privacy Setting you need to enable to gain access to the Transcribe feature within Microsoft Word.



Word Transcribe Missing

Within Microsoft Word, click on File > Account (1) > Manage Settings (2). Then toggle the “Turn on experiences that analyze your content (3)” and “Turn on experiences that download online content (4)“. See image below.
