Why All-In-One Computers Suck

To be brief, All-in-one (AIO) computers fail more often and the cost to repair them usually comes near or exceeds the replacement value. If you are okay with this fact, then there is no issue. If you are in the market for a new computer and this fact doesn’t sound good to you then read on.

All-in-One Computers Fail Frequently

Put simply, they can’t disperse the heat effectively. This is not conspiracy theory, they design them like that. How else does one calculate a mean time between failure (MTBF)? Heat (and other environmental factors) kills circuits, eventually.

If you insist, because you ‘need the space‘, get yourself a nice laptop (if you don’t already have one). This way you can take your AIO with you. When you get to your ‘station’ plug in a keyboard, mouse and monitor and surprise you just built yourself an AIO. A big screen All-in-one for a fraction of the cost but with greater reliability.
