Opening .WebP files within older versions of Adobe Photoshop is not native. Meaning you will need a way to instruct Adobe Photoshop on handling such an image file. This article will show you a quick and easy way of doing so. Note that this should work for the following versions of Adobe Photoshop: 7.0, CS2, CS3, CS4, CS5 and CS6.
We were recently hired to update the Happy Hour menu of a local Naples Italian Restaurant, Rosedale Brick Oven Pizza.
Reviewing their needed changes we felt like we were looking at a diamond in the rough. We asked the restaurant owner if we could propose a new design for the menu to which he agreed. No doubt he felt comforted having worked with us before.
We were pleased to design what you see here as the final product. More importantly, he was happy with it and it looks great posted on the outside of the restaurant’s entrance. Large font makes it easy to read and not a ton of graphics. But if you look close you’ll see a few speckle artifacts that add that extra bit of class to the design. Simple and classic, we are proud of it.
Presently, there is no standard for having an icon appear on an external link on your website for web accessibility purposes. What we mean by external link, a link that opens a new window or new tab.
No doubt, those using screen readers will be more interested in “what” the link’s alt property contains rather than “how” an icon specifying an external link looks.
For those interested in adding a quick and simple external link icon to all their external links, here is a CSS property for your consideration. This CSS property rule will apply to all links with a target equal to “_blank“.

There are 50 plus “Dark Mode” themes, as of this post, on the Google Chrome Web Store. Even so, I just needed a break and wanted to try doing something new. Figured why not try designing and fine tuning my own Chrome dark mode theme?
The process proved to be interesting and relatively straight forward. For $5 bucks I was able to get it published on the Google Chrome Web Store. I also published the theme source code and design file on GitHub. Feel free to review the source materials and provide me with your feedback. As for me, I love it! But hey, I am biased.
We recently had a client send us their company logo in EPS file format. Normally this isn’t an issue, except the file was created on a newer version of Adobe Illustrator. When we attempt to open the file we receive the following error message:
Can’t open the illustration. The file was generated by a newer version of Illustrator and cannot be opened. Please resave it in a format compatible with your version of Illustrator.
Annoying, to say the least. The good news is that we, potentially, have a work-around.
