Google Chrome Dark Mode Theme

There are 50 plus “Dark Mode” themes, as of this post, on the Google Chrome Web Store. Even so, I just needed a break and wanted to try doing something new. Figured why not try designing and fine tuning my own Chrome dark mode theme?

The process proved to be interesting and relatively straight forward. For $5 bucks I was able to get it published on the Google Chrome Web Store. I also published the theme source code and design file on GitHub. Feel free to review the source materials and provide me with your feedback. As for me, I love it! But hey, I am biased.

Analytics has encountered an unexpected condition and cannot fulfill your request

To resolve the Google Analytics Internal error notification one must simply disable any AdBlocking extension or Addon (such as AdBlock or uBlock Origin) within your browser.

Google has changed the Google Analytics URL several times over the past years and this issues seems to have resolved itself. If you are still having issues, check your Favorite or Bookmark to ensure that you are using the correct URL: analytics.google.com/analytics

New Confidential Mode in Gmail

Google’s Gmail service recently released a new feature called “Confidential Mode“. This allows you to set how long an email is available for viewing by your intended recipient(s).

As you can imagine, after the set expiration date, the email message is simply and automatically removed from the recipients inbox. Recipients will not have the option of forwarding this email, coping the email contents, or even printing it out.

However, it is still possible for a recipient to simply take a photograph or screenshot.

Stop Browser Download from Opening Automatically

All Chromium (an open-source browser project) based internet browsers (such as Google Chrome, Brave, Firefox and Microsoft Edge) allow for the automatic opening of a downloaded file. For example, upon downloading a .jpg image you can select to have all future .jpg images open automatically upon download.

This may come in handy for certain file types. However, this feature is most often triggered accidentally, (at least in my case). To make matters worse, there is no opportunity to undo or reverse this option from the frontend. Not to worry, within this short article I will cover how you can disable this if you no longer need to automatically open your downloaded files upon completion.
